Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Eligibility Workshop

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has launched a Regional Safeguarding Outreach programme to focus on working collaboratively with safeguarding and recruiting organisations. The aim is to work closer with organisations in the region to develop our relationships and raise awareness of DBS as a safeguarding organisation.

The workshop will be delivered through Zoom by Durham Community Action and will be hosted by Sue Davison, Regional Outreach Adviser(North East) with Partnership Team, Strategy and Performance Directorate at Disclosure and Barring Service. 

The session plans to support participants from voluntary and community sector organisations in County Durham to understand what level of DBS check can be applied for and what informatiion these checks will provide. 

The session will cover:

  • Understanding the different levels of DBS checks available
  • Understanding what roles are eligible for what levels of check and why
  • Understand what is regulated activity
  • Using practical examples to decide what level of checks roles could be eligible for

This event will take place online and joining instructions will be sent prior to the session.

Attendance is free although booking in advance is required to secure places.
