You are invited to join Durham Community Action and The National Lottery Community Fund for an information session to help prepare Community Spaces for capital funding bids.
This session will include information about the Community Spaces Partnership which can commission capital projects of between £25,000 – £40,000 that will future-proof your community building.
- Lynn Stoddart, Funding Officer North East and Cumbria Team at The National Lottery Community Fund will be talking about funding for capital projects and what funders expect from a bid
- Durham Community Action will provide information about how being a well-governed organisation can help your application for larger bids and the advice and guidance we can offer organisations to be bid ready
- We will also be hearing from Chris Jones, Principal Programme and Project Manager at Durham County Council about the practicalities of capital projects from a council point of view in relation to planning
The Community Spaces Partnership between The National Lottery Community Fund and Community Action Northumberland; along with partners Action for Cumbria (ACT) and Durham Community Action.
Some examples of what could be funded include measures to become more carbon neutral such as upgrading your lighting or improving your insulation, or making you a resilient hub for your community by installing solar panels with battery storage.
There will be an opportunity at this event to talk to the team about your capital project plans and to discuss next steps.
The event is taking place on Wednesday 12th July from 10.00am – 12.00noon at Spennymoor Youth and Community Centre.
