Durham Community Action

Using Participatory and Creative Methods in Community-Based Research: An Introduction

Registration is closed for this event

Durham Community Action and the Rural Design Centre are continuing to explore how to support the development of Community Research Networks in County Durham.  We are pleased to introduce a series of practical workshops to build skills and knowledge amongst VCS organisations who want to develop further insight into community research.

We welcome back Sarah Banks, Centre for Social Justice and Community Action, Durham University to facilitate this half-day interactive workshop. It will take place on Wednesday 8th May from 10.00am – 1.00pm at Alington House in Durham and will be followed by lunch.

It will look at using group exercises to identify research topics, plan research, and explore creative methods to collect data, for example, PhotoVoice & World Café; these methods can also be useful for community capacity building and community development work as well as research.
