Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Workshop

The aim of this workshop is to understand:

  • the benefits of DBS and you (employer or voluntary organisation) working together
  • the different levels of DBS check and when an employee is eligible for a check
  • what ‘regulated activity’ is
  • what the DBS Update Service is, and its benefits
  • the safe recruitment practices that can be in place, with DBS checks forming a part of these

This workshop is suitable for anyone who has responsibility for engaging with DBS processes and legislation within their organisation including those who decide on levels of checks to be applied for, carry out recruitment or manage staff in regulated activity or have responsibility for safeguarding or trustees.

The workshop will be delivered by Rebecca Robinson from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This event will take place online and joining instructions will be sent prior to the session.

Attendance is free although booking in advance is required to secure places.
