County Durham Poverty Truth Commission and Durham Community Action

We are delighted to invite you to a celebration event for the South Durham Poverty Truth Commission on Thursday 4th June from 12.30 – 3.30pm at Shildon Methodist Church Hall, 3 Main Street, Shildon, DL4 1AH.

Registration and lunch are from 12.30pm, with the formal session starting at 1.00pm.

Since May 2025, the Community and Civic Commissioners have been meeting monthly and identified their priorities as Access to Healthcare (with emphasis on neurodiversity and refugees and asylum seekers); Domestic Abuse; and Benefits and Disabilities. They will update you on what they have achieved so far and invite you to input into what might come next.

Durham University and Pioneering Care Partnership will also provide feedback from their ongoing research with the Community and Civic Commissioners.

Yours sincerely,

Amy, Barbara, Cathy, Cathryn, Chris, Cheryl, Claire, Edward, Joanne, Julie, Katie, Mukadas, Neil, Pam, Paul, Sherifat, Tonya, Vicki and Victoria
