Durham Community Action are working with County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service to offer an online training session for professionals and partner organisations who visit the homes of vulnerable service users.
The training will give you insight into the dangers of fire, common hazards/warning signs that you may come across in a service users home and what you can do to help reduce these fire risks directly or by referring into the Fire Service so the operational fire crews and/or Community Fire Safety Officers can offer bespoke advice and guidance to help keep the service user safe in their home.
The training will also explain what additional support or equipment may be able to be facilitated to further reduce risks in specific home environments, as well as the recommended advice to service users so you can best explain to them what a referral into the Fire Service means.
By working together, more people will be safe in their homes, as you will have the opportunity to gain access to homes where the fire service may not be able to get into independently.
