Durham Community Action achieve Bronze Investors in the Environment Award
Bronze achievement for DCA logo

Durham Community Action are delighted to have achieved the Bronze Level certification in their first year of Investors in the Environment (iiE) accreditation.

The Environmental Management System offered a thorough look at our organisation and its environmental impacts and our action plans demonstrated a clear path to manage and reduce them.

The Investors in the Environment annual audit assesses five key areas of an organisation’s Environmental Management System. These areas include:

  • Environmental policy
  • Resource management and monitoring
  • Progress against targets
  • Action planning including social/ environmental projects
  • Communication

Jo Holmes from Genee who conducted the audit said;

"We are thrilled to award Durham Community Action their Bronze Investors in the Environment Accreditation. They have shown real commitment in understanding, measuring and managing their environmental impacts. Their engagement outside of the organisation will ensure the impacts are not just felt by the organisation but all the stakeholders they work with.”

If you're interested in looking at your organisation's environmental impact, you can find out more about the Investors in the Environment accreditation here and see below for details of our training around becoming 'greener.'
