Welcome to this bumper edition of our newsletter. It comes at a time when we are re-adjusting to new regulations and restrictions which affect every level of our family lives and our social networks. We are publishing the National Village Halls Survey report in this edition, a survey which was undertaken last year, before Covid hit us. Please do have a look. The report emphasises how critical community venues are for social, economic and community wellbeing. As we enter the Autumn of 2020 however, we are being faced with some existential challenges about how we sustain our community venues, so that we can rekindle a social infrastructure which will thrive again when we emerge from the Covid imposed lockdowns. As ever, we welcome your insights and experiences about how you are sustaining community life.
Also in this edition are links to workshops and activities, particularly Trustees Week, coming up in November. If you are interested in Community Led Housing, do check out the event with Claude Hendrickson on 22nd October, talking from first hand experience about getting equality and diversity embedded into community led schemes from the get go. Despite the struggle to keep on top of regulations and restrictions, there is still a lot of really inventive activity in our communities and we hope you find something in this edition which supports you in your work. |
